Why convert TIFF to BMP?

TIFF and BMP are both lossless, but some old Windows software, embedded tools and legacy pipelines only accept BMP's raw, uncompressed pixel format. Converting TIFF to BMP keeps every pixel exactly as it was, just repackaged into that simpler container. Multi-page TIFFs use only the first page; for every page, use TIFF to JPG or PNG instead. It happens entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

TIFF vs BMP at a glance

TIFF is the print and scanning workhorse — lossless and high quality, but heavy and not supported by browsers or the web. BMP is Windows' raw bitmap format — pixel data stored uncompressed, which makes files enormous.

TIFF to BMP — frequently asked questions

Is this TIFF to BMP converter really free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.

Are my TIFF files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens entirely on your device using your browser's built-in image engine. Your TIFF files never leave your computer or phone — which is also why the conversion is nearly instant.

What happens to transparent areas?

BMP doesn't support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with a solid white background during conversion.

What happens with a multi-page TIFF?

Only the first page is converted to BMP. To get every page as separate images, use the TIFF to JPG or TIFF to PNG converter, which returns a zip of all pages.

Will converting TIFF to BMP lose quality?

No. Both formats are lossless, so the BMP contains pixel-for-pixel exactly what the TIFF's first page contained.
